Panasonic HPX 3700G P2 HD VariCam
Panasonic’s new 3700 VariCam is designed to capture high-end broadcast, commercial and corporate communications with enhanced, uncompromising 1080p/i cinematic image quality with the exceptionally reliable and faster post workflow of solid-state P2 HD.
The 3700 shoots in independent frame AVC-Intra 100 & 50 (each individual frame is recorded & stored with no pulldown or duplication), as well as DVCPRO HD codecs – with full raster 1920 x 1080 (progressive or interlaced) imaging, 3-CCD 2.2 megapixel sensors, 14 bit digital processing/10 bit recording, 1-30fps variable frame rate, and sports six advanced HD & film gamma settings. The VariCam delivers soft, subtle flesh tones, deep, rich blacks, and the ability to dial in crisp, superlative green screen imaging.
The workhorse 3700 is a traditionally designed, ‘run & gun’ styled camera – offering user friendly operability, easy to access menus, and film-quality imaging. With minimal lighting requirements, the 3700 VariCam features great low light sensitivity – allowing you to shoot more efficiently AND economically – with faster set-ups & smaller crews on location if necessary.
Producers appreciate P2 because there’s no tape costs, and no time wasted digitizing tapes, making SD card window-burned viewing copies, or making SD copies for off-line editing. - On-board proxy file encoder to SC card recording capability (Make simultaneous, lower resolution ‘window burned’ viewing & off-line edit copies!)
